Mia March serves up a slice of Heaven…plus a book giveaway

If you’re like us, then you also LOVED Mia March’s debut, The Meryl Streep Movie Club (reviewed here) as well as her latest, Finding Colin Firth (reviewed here). As you can probably tell, she’s a pretty huge fan of Meryl Streep and Colin Firth, who are both fantastic performers, so it’s fair to say that Mia has great taste! Her taste in books is also wide in variety from big-hearted, emotional novels about life and love to memoirs and all kinds of non-fiction. Mia lives on the coast of Maine, and both her novels take place in Boothbay Harbor, which sounds like a beautiful place to visit.

Mia is here today to tell us which of her main characters (with three per book, she has a lot to choose from) she’d take on a friend date. And if you haven’t had a chance to read these wonderful novels yet (or loved them so much that you want to give them as a gift), she has signed copies of each for a lucky winner in the US, Canada, or UK.

We hope we’ll get to read another novel (or two…or three) from her in the future. We’ll be keeping an eye on her Twitter feed for such news!

Veronica is a total Betty

A day with one of the main characters of FINDING COLIN FIRTH? Easy: I’d pick up Veronica Russo at her home in Boothbay Harbor and we’d road-trip-it down to Portland, about two hours south along the beautiful coast of Maine. Since Veronica is a pie baker, I’d take her on a pie tour of my favorite bakeries and pastry shops in Portland. While trying as many slices of pie as possible, we’d dish on everything—how her relationship is going with Bea, who only recently, as an adult, found out she was adopted and that Veronica is her birth findingcolinfirthmother. We’d talk about that very sexy cop who Veronica finally opened her mind and heart to. We’d talk about how exquisite the month of May is in Maine, when the leaves and flowers finally start blooming after a six month winter. Then we’d go back to my little house where she’d teach me to bake one of her special elixir pies, perhaps a Muse pie (chocolate and coconut will be involved) to help me work out the plot of my next novel. Then I’d drive her home and we’d decide to make it an every Sunday outing. Pie is a necessity of life, isn’t it?

Thanks to Mia for taking us on her friend date and sharing her books with our readers.

**Just for fun, Melissa A. had a movie casting idea for Veronica: Jenna Dewan Tatum.**
