My Top Fives

1. Which 5 chick-lit books are you most excited about reading this year?
Ice Creams At Carrington’s by Alexandra Brown – I cannot wait to be back at Carrington’s with Georgie, Sam, Eddie, Mr Carrington himself and all of the other wonderful characters! And it features ICE CREAM! Can it get any better than that? 😀
I’ll Take New York by Miranda Dickinson – I always whizz through Miranda’s books because I enjoy them so so much, and I’m very excited to be back in Miranda’s stories this year! I’m also excited because the setting is New York and I love books set in New York.
Thirteen Weddings by Paige Toon – I always get very fangirly for Paige’s books but I’m particularly excited for this one because Paige often writes little bits about her other characters in, and this one is featuring a little bit of Ben from Pictures Of Lily. Swoon!
You’re The One That I Want by Giovanna Fletcher – I was blown away by Giovanna’s debut Billy and Me last year so I’m excited to read her next book (and the cover is gorgeous!)
Bad Brides by Rebecca Chance – I have so much love and respect for Rebecca Chance – this is a lady who can really write an amazing book! Wow. So I’m bursting with enthusiasm for Bad Brides!
2. Which 5 chick-lit books make you laugh the most?
I’ve Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella – Picture laughing so hard you choke on your drink and them spit it out everywhere in the most unladylike fashion … this was me the first time I read I’ve Got Your Number! Even now when I re-read it I still burst into uncontrollable laughter!
It Happened In Paris by Molly Hopkins – I actually read this when I was in France, and I died laughing. I swear at one point I nearly wet myself from laughing (maybe a smidge TMI there).
The Guestbook by Holly Martin – Holly cracks me up with the vibrant and fun characters from The Guestbook, I really enjoyed this!
Can You Keep A Secret? by Sophie Kinsella – Okay kinda cheating with the same author but Sophie K knows how to make me laugh!
I Heart New York by Lindsey Kelk – Lindsey Kelk’s humour really comes through in this and the story is addictive too.
3. Which 5 chick-lit books should all chick-lit lovers read?
Cupcakes At Carrington’s by Alexandra Brown – If you haven’t already then start your Carrington’s journey with the fantastic first book in the series.
Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella – This was one of my favourite Sophie books – I thoroughly enjoyed every word.
One Perfect Summer by Paige Toon – Full of romance, drama and emotion – you need this in your life!
I Heart New York by Lindsey Kelk – Another fab series to get into.
From Notting Hill With Love…Actually by Ali McNamara – Scarlett and Sean are wonderful and Ali’s books will just fill you with happiness.
4. Which 5 chick-lit books would you take to a desert island with you?
Kiss Heaven Goodbye by Tasmina Perry – It starts on an island – and oh this story had me GRIPPED. One of Tasmina’s best books.
On The Island by Tracey Garvis Graves – If I’m on an island I think taking this book would be a good idea considering it’s about characters who get stranded on an island – I might get some good tips.
Seeing Stars by Christina Jones – This is an old one of hers and one of my favourites. It is magical, happy and comforting all at the same time and I think I’d love having that with me.
Take A Look At Me Now by Miranda Dickinson – This book makes me want to take a trip somewhere so I think it’s appropriate, and it inspires me too.
It Felt Like A Kiss by Sarra Manning – I really liked this the first time round and would love to be able to sit, relax and read it again.
5. Which 5 chick-lit books are your favourite chick-lit books of all time?
P.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern – MY FAVOURITE BOOKS EVER IN THE WHOLE WORLD. It’s so beautifully written and every word has so much emotion in and I read it all the time. Confession: I actually own four copies of it I love it that much.
It Started With A Kiss by Miranda Dickinson – For having the most perfect opening to a book I’ve ever read, starting with being kissed by a handsome stranger in a Christmas market, then a quest to find him … sigh! ❤
Christmas At The Cupcake Cafe by Jenny Colgan – I love Christmas, I love cupcakes, I love chick lit and I love Jenny Colgan for writing these books … it’s the perfect combination.
Christmas At Carrington’s by Alexandra Brown – I love Carrington’s, every time I read a book from the series I always wish I was there! And Christmas At Carrington’s is currently my favourite, it is just delightful. I want to hug it and never let go!
